ATTIRE

We're taking a cue from our dear friends' (Celia and Rodolphe) wedding attire style as shown above.

We recommend festive, comfortable attire for the ceremony and reception. Our wedding colors will be warm fall tones -- reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, golds -- if you'd like to coordinate.

Our ceremony will be taking place in the Redwoods, with soft ground underfoot and in the shade of large trees. It's generally cooler in the groves than in town, so an extra layer could be helpful, or one could make sure to have a friend to cuddle with. The soft ground makes spike heels inadvisable.

The reception will include a buffet dinner outside in the restaurant's back garden area and dancing inside a music venue space. The average temperatures for Sebastopol in October are 75 degrees during the day and 60 degrees in the evenings.

The post wedding brunch will be on the beach, which is often windy and cooler than the temperature inland. We'd recommend wearing layers and casual wear.

+ Take advantage of free parking at Mountain Home Inn, and stroll over to Muir Woods (can get very crowded) for a half hour (or more) hike through redwoods
+ Begin the drive up Route 1 (aka the Panoramic Highway) north to Sebastopol
+ Drive to Hog Island Oyster Company for an oyster and beer/wine pit stop

+ If you need another oyster fix, stop at Bodega Bay Oyster Company on the Petaluma/Valley Ford Road
+ Take Bodega Highway to Sebastopol

Routes with a pitstop from San Francisco to Sebastopol area (2.5 hours):

+ Leave San Francisco and drive to Cavallo Point (converted from an army officer's club and residences to a luxury resort). Grab a coffee or tea and sit on a rocking chair on their porch and enjoy the views of the city and the bridge, or have a meal inside the restaurant. Take the 101 north to Sebastopol.

+ Leave San Francisco and drive to the Pelican Inn for a meal or a beverage (a rustic British pub nestled in the redwoods). Visit Muir Beach for a quick stop, and take the 101 to Sebastopol.
